For my 33rd birthday, I want to practice giving. From August 5-September 5, the 33x33x33 project will be supporting three nonprofits who are lifting up the underserved and empowering the community through compassion: Raices, Mark Making, and Greater Chattanooga Christian Services. Participants who make a suggested donation of $33 to one of these organizations will receive their choice of one of 33 watercolor paintings (see specific guidelines below).
Founded 33 years ago in 1986, Raices is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees.
Mark Making aims to develop innovative arts-based programs that cultivate essential life skills, foster civic engagement, and challenge assumptions of perceived abilities.
*I have been a facilitator with Mark Making since 2012, helping create public murals with students and teaching art classes in the Hamilton County Jail.
Greater Chattanooga Christian Services
Greater Chattanooga Christian Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian outreach committed to serving children and families through compassionate, professional care.
*My husband, Jason, is beginning an internship at GCCS this week, as he pursues licensure as a pastoral counselor.
